History Of Billiards

The history of billiards is long and very rich. It is said that in ancient Egypt and Greece was developing a game on the ground with large staffs or sticks with which they drove balls to holes intended for this purpose. In the Middle Ages are documented games of this type in Ireland and in England, but in France from the fifteenth century when modern forms takes no longer playing on the floor but bands delimited tables, soon became a sport practiced by kings and nobility, it is said that as early as the seventeenth century great pool players obtained important favors from their kings to teach them to play and especially to be outdone, a famous phrase says it all "This will put them to Fernando VII ".
